The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), a public university that was founded by the government of Pakistan in 1981 to train members of the Pakistani Armed Forces is a multi-school university with its headquarters located in Islamabad, Pakistan. The university is co-educational, established to promote higher scientific education in the country especially in the field of sciences and technology. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees leading to Ph.D in the fields of engineering, information technology, medical sciences, and management sciences.

On 10 August 2012, a delegation from NUST, Brigadier FiazHussain Shah, Principal, Military College of Engineering (MCE), and Dr. ManzoorHussain, Head, Geotechnical and Transportation Engineering, MCE, visited AIT to discuss about MCE’S interest in partnership with AIT, particularly in the field of disaster mitigation, reconstruction engineering and disaster management.Welcoming the delegation, Prof. Said Irandoust, President, AIT said the Institute is keen to strengthen its relationship with Pakistan. MCE showed interest in a tie-up in the field of civil engineering with an emphasis on disaster management and expressed its intention to partner in a wide range of issues ranging from curriculum development to dual and joint degree programs. MCE Delegates also announced that two faculty members from MCE will be joining AIT in August 2012, and this will be followed by two more.The delegation also visited the AIT Consulting Office and further discussed about possible collaboration with AIT Consulting.
