The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) is one of Asia’s leading higher learning institutions promoting technological change and sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific region through higher education, research, and outreach. Established in Bangkok in 1959, AIT is more than a national university, it is a unique and leading inter-governmental international postgraduate institution, actively working with public and private sector partners throughout the region and with some of the top universities in the world.

AIT focuses on engineering and technology, environmental resources and development, management and capacity building, providing its academic and professional development programs through its School of Engineering and Technology; School of Environment, Resources and Development; School of Management, AIT Extension and two satellite centers in Vietnam and Indonesia.

AIT is a diverse institute, with many specialized units that have the capability to provide requisite expertise in their respective fields and together with 135 faculty members and researchers, 23 research laboratories, 22 Centers of Excellence, 32 fields of study and over 300 partners, sponsors and clients, AIT conducts over 400 concurrent research projects. The mission of AIT is to develop highly qualified and committed professionals who play leading roles in the region’s sustainable development and its integration into the global economy.
