Bangkok, 28 March 2025 – Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and the National Housing Authority (NHA) of Thailand have renewed their partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in Housing and Community Development and Advanced Building Design Technologies.
During the MoU signing ceremony, AIT President Prof. Pai-Chi Li highlighted the significance of this renewed partnership, mentioning that this MoU presents an excellent opportunity for both NHA and AIT to combine our expertise and actively contribute to the development of innovative solutions for a more sustainable and resilient future. Echoing this sentiment, NHA Governor Mr. Taweebhong Wichaidit emphasized the importance of collaborative projects and knowledge-sharing activities to create meaningful impacts in the housing sector.
The collaboration between AIT and NHA dates back to 2014, with AIT Solutions serving as the focal point for AIT. Over the years, AIT Solutions has worked closely with NHA, organizing workshops and seminars to integrate AIT’s research and advisory expertise with NHA’s extensive data and resources. This engagement was formalized through an MoU in 2020, further solidifying the joint commitment to advancing sustainable and resilient building technologies.
Under the renewed MoU, AIT and NHA will focus on knowledge creation through research and surveys aimed at developing innovative housing solutions. These initiatives will address key themes such as resilience, sustainability, efficiency, quality, and adherence to global standards.
Following the MoU signing, Prof. Vilas Nitivattananon from AIT’s Urban Innovation and Sustainability program delivered a special talk on the contributions of resilient housing and the built environment to sustainable development, reinforcing the importance of integrating sustainability into future housing initiatives. This renewed collaboration marks a significant step toward collaborative initiatives between NHA and AIT.
