On 28 January 2026, the officials from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) were awarded a Certificate of Honor from Thailand’s Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning (DPT), recognizing AIT’s contribution to the fact-finding investigation into the collapse of the new Office of the State Audit Office (SAO) building.
The award ceremony was held at the Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning headquarters. The certificate was presented by Mr. Unsit Sampuntharat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, on behalf of Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

The Certificate of Honor recognizes the valuable contributions of organizations and individuals who supported the investigation with transparency, rigor, and a strong commitment to the public interest. AIT contributed academic and professional expertise in structural engineering, technical analysis, and evidence-based assessment to support a thorough and credible investigation process.
