Mr. Thaung Htut Aung, Executive Director, AIT Solutions, presented a comprehensive case study on Performance-Based Seismic Design (PBSD) of a Tall Building at the International Structural Engineering and Construction Society (ISEC) Conference, held from 17–21 November 2025 in Sydney, Australia.
During his presentation, Mr. Aung shared insights from a 55-story residential tower comprising 6 above-grade podium levels, 4 basement parking levels, and standing approximately 198.6 meters tall. The project applied advanced PBSD methodologies to enhance safety, efficiency, and structural resilience in seismic regions. He discussed the engineering approach, nonlinear analysis procedures, and key findings from the design verification process, including risk-targeted seismic evaluations and response history analysis.
