Title: Wind & Structural Engineer (Project Staff)
Division: Wind Tunnel Testing & Structural Health Monitoring
Scope: The Wind and Structural Engineer of Wind Tunnel Testing & Structural Health Monitoring Department will be directly responsible to the Coordinator and shall take charge of the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- provides engineering expertise over a wide range of projects according to her expertise.
- assemble project information and initial project planning for Wind Tunnel Engineering.
- coordinates with the drafting, model shop, and wind tunnel teams to ensure the accuracy of drawings, buildings, and data.
- analyzes data, develops test plans, and prepares reports.
- perform building modeling and design using software such as ETABS, SAP 2000, SAFE, etc. for performance-based evaluation.
- prepare the necessary design calculation sheets, and drawings using Auto Cad and Microsoft Visio and the reports of the building project.
- design buildings and make drafts using AutoCAD and calculate weight estimations.
- prepare a comprehensive technical report on both Structural and Wind Tunnel Engineering Projects.
- contributes to the continual process development of systems and techniques.
Qualifications and skills:
- Strong academic background gained in civil and structural engineering with a master’s degree
- 1.5+ years of working experience preferred
- Extensive experience in structural analysis and design of reinforced concrete buildings and steel structures.
- Knowledge in Finite Element Analysis, Structural Dynamics, Seismic Resistant Design of buildings
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
- Expertise in the use of structural analysis and design packages: STABS, SAP2000, and SAFE
- Fluent and strong proficiency in written and spoken English
- Detail-oriented, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask projects in a fast-paced & changing environment both independently & collaboratively.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team environment.
