Qualifications and skills:

  1. Strong academic background gained in civil and structural engineering with a master’s degree
  2. 1.5+ years of working experience preferred
  3. Extensive experience in structural analysis and design of reinforced concrete buildings and steel structures.
  4. Knowledge in Finite Element Analysis, Structural Dynamics, Seismic Resistant Design of buildings
  5. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
  6. Expertise in the use of structural analysis and design packages: STABS, SAP2000, and SAFE
  7. Fluent and strong proficiency in written and spoken English
  8. Detail-oriented, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask projects in a fast-paced & changing environment both independently & collaboratively.
  9. Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team environment.
  10. Openness to being mentored and given constructive feedback

Scope:

The Project Developer of Wind Tunnel Testing & Structural Health Monitoring Unit will be directly responsible to the Coordinator and the Unit and shall take charge of the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  1. provides engineering expertise over a wide range of projects according to her expertise.
  2. assemble project information and initial project planning for Wind Tunnel Engineering.
  3. coordinates with the drafting, model shop, and wind tunnel teams to ensure the accuracy of drawings, buildings, and data.
  4. analyzes data, develops test plans, and prepares reports.
  5. perform building modeling and design using software such as ETABS, SAP 2000, SAFE, etc. for performance-based evaluation.
  6. prepare the necessary design calculation sheets, and drawings using Auto Cad and Microsoft Visio and the reports of the building project.
  7. design buildings and make drafts using AutoCAD and calculate weight estimations.
  8. prepare a comprehensive technical report on both Structural and Wind Tunnel Engineering Projects.
  9. contributes to the continual process development of systems and techniques.
