Prof. Jahangir Mirza, Senior Scientist at Research Institute of Hydro-Québec (IREQ), Montreal, Canada and a Visiting Research Professor in Environmental Engineering Program at the School of Engineering, University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada visited AIT and talk to students and faculty on the topic Construction Industry and Environmental Issues: Alternative and Solutions held on 30 January 2019 at AIT Conference Center.
He covered topics on minimum cement usage and maximizing natural, industrial and agricultural recyclable materials in green construction. The presentation also included salient technical, energy related, environmental, and economical advantages of using those materials in everyday construction applications.
Prof. Mirza’s visit to AIT was coordinated through Dr. Naveed Anwar, Executive Director, AIT Solutions. He also met with Habitech Director Mr. Gyanendra Sthapit to discuss possible alternatives on construction materials related to interlocking bricks.
