How can we support Asian youth to emerge as leading global citizens in today’s highly competitive environment?  The AIT-Tiger Leong International Innovation and Leadership Camp was organized with a purpose to contribute to the nurturing of young minds in Asia by providing an interactive learning program while promoting cultural exchange and exposure.

The Camp was sponsored by AIT and AIT alumnus Mr. Tiger Leong who described AIT as a very unique institute and credited his achievements to his days as a student.

Mr. Leong, hopes  the students will gain from their exposure at AIT and attain greater success in the future.

Twenty-one bright and brilliant undergraduate students from top universities in Asia were selected to take part in the Innovation Camp for two weeks. The camp was designed for the participants to immerse themselves in interdisciplinary topics and at the end of the camp, to help them produce an innovative conceptual idea to be shared with experts.

President Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai who welcomed the participants articulated that AIT provides a perfect international platform where they can build strong networks with students from other countries. “Global challenges require global solutions,” he said, adding that modern-day problem solving requires a multidisciplinary approach. He encouraged participants to work together as a team, experience diverse cultures and obtain different global perspectives. “It will equip you with tools, technologies and attitudes required to address real world challenges”, Prof. Worsak added.

Four participants were selected from Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam; and one from Thailand. The academic background is also an assorted mix, varying from engineering to economics, development, business, literature and arts.
