The International Conference on Sustainable Built Environment (ICSBE-2010) was held in Kandy, Sri Lanka on 10th-15th December 2010. AIT Consulting CEO Dr. Naveed Anwar was the keynote speaker for a pre-conference event and conducted a pre-conference workshop on “Performance Based Review and Design of Tall Buildings” for the Faculty of Engineering of University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. At the conference, he presented a paper and made many important and useful connections with fellow professionals.
A significant outcome from ICSBE-2010 came from discussions with a representative from University of Peradeniya. An agreement was formed to initiate a semi-university organization or consulting firm called Center for Sustainable Built Environment (CSBE), which would be closely linked with University of Peradeniya, under its overall umbrella. This would establish an active collaboration between AIT Consulting and the experts and resource people from the University, which would greatly enhance the ability of AIT Consulting to initiate and execute projects under the broad spectrum of sustainable built environment.
