Buddha Saengdham Temple will soon begin building an 86-meter semi-elliptical designed in steel trusses temple dome in Thailand. The dome has a total height of 40-meter, with a diameter of 65-meter base and 86-meter center.

This planned development is characterized by a shell dome structure that is generally very efficient and appropriate structural system for covering large spans, such as temples.

Buddha Saengdham Temple engaged the services of AIT Consulting (AITC) for its expertise in wind tunnel test and structural system development to ensure that the design and construction of the 86-meter dome be done through proper and advanced analytical methods and procedure, including the determinants of wind effects through a proper wind‐tunnel modeling and study.

The team will be led by Dr. Pennung Warnitchai, Earthquake Engineering Expert and Associate Professor, Structural Engineering, School of Engineering and Technology, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Dr. Punchet Thammarak, Lecturer, School of Engineering and Technology, AIT and Dr. Naveed Anwar, Structural Engineering Expert and Executive Director, AITC.
