Sy^2 + Associates, Inc., Structural Engineers, has since its inception in 1983, been firmly grounded in a proud tradition of structural engineering and has maintained a continuous practice of engineering consulting by offering services in Structural Engineering, Structural Design Consultation, Structural Investigation, Peer Review and Bid and Contract Documents. Catering to the structural needs of major local developers in the Philippines industry, the company covers diverse areas of expertise ranging from structural designs of high-rise buildings, park development, housing and subdivisions, hotels, hospitals, cultural art theaters, cinema houses, shopping centers, educational institutions, houses of worship, airport terminal buildings, factories and industrial plants, and community facilities.
Working with various foreign consultants, Sy^2 + Associates, Inc. has, over the past years been collaborating with AIT Consulting on many of its projects, including structural performance-based evaluation; structural modeling, analysis and design; structural peer review, seismic hazard map development for infrastructure development, amongst others. Several currently ongoing projects include salient structures such as Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 in Manila; Ayala Land’s Lattice Towers; SM Development Corporation’s Green Residences; Century Properties Group’s Acqua Private Residences and Trump Tower Manila. Mr. Jose A. Sy, President and CEO Sy^2 + Associates, Inc. and his team often times travel to Thailand for various mutual project-related meetings, discussions and work with AIT Consulting structural engineers.
To further strengthen connections between the two organizations, a group of 13 Structural Engineers, headed by Mr. Earl Bonita, Team leader from Sy^2 + Associates, Inc., visited AIT and AIT Consulting Office in mid-September 2012, as part of their leisure trip to Thailand. The group was welcomed by Dr. Naveed Anwar and several structural engineers for a tour of the office, followed by an AIT Campus tour.
