AIT Consulting (AITC) has recently been awarded three projects in the Philippines through its client SY2 + associates. AITC will carry out a Performance-Based Design review for Shell Residences, M Place Ortigas building and Green Residences. The three buildings are being built by SM Development Corporation (SMDC), the fastest-growing developer of affordable primary homes and condominiums in the Philippines. 

The Shell Residences project, awarded in September 2011, is a 15-storey building with a total gross floor area of 153,856 sqm. The structure which is located in Pasay City, in front of SM Mall of Asia has a land area of 22,000 sqm and comprises four independent L-shaped towers, with 3,100 units. 

The M Place Ortigas building project was also awarded in September 2011. The building is a 29-storey residential tower located in Pasig City, within the Central Business District in the heart of Ortigas Center. The building is a first-class residential condominium project targeting young professionals and housing 1,172 units, including a podium and parking levels. 

The Green Residences project, awarded in October 2011, is located besides De La Salle University, in Manila. The 50-storey building, which will be the tallest and most prominent structure in the area, is spread over a land area of 3,590 sqm and comprises of 3,378 units. The building aiming to combine academic and leisure activities in one place, targets students of De La Salle University and College of St. Benilde. 

The main objectives for the development of a Performance-Based Design for all three projects include enhancing the structural performance, improving cost effectiveness, and achieving efficient use of materials and other resources.
