Ayala Land Premier, the real estate arm of Ayala Corporation and one of the Philippines’ oldest and largest conglomerates has unveiled yet another exclusive living experience to add to the glittering Makati skyline. Park Terraces, a prime residential complex, initially launched in January 2010 in the redeveloping Ayala Center, Manila, Philippines is proud to announce its final completion of the Park Terraces, a three tower development, with the tallest tower reaching up to a height of 187m. The towers which share a motor court and basement parking also include various retail spaces for establishments such as cafes, restaurants, wellness outlets, and service retail at the ground level. The Park Terraces is also renowned for its structural components, as it is the first building in the country to utilize the Buckling Restrained Bracing (BRB) structural system. The BRB approach, used in steel and concrete construction projects, enables a structure to be put up without beams, using only slabs and eliminating constraints in utilities and chases, providing earthquake and seismic resistance.

Since July 2010, AIT Consulting has been working through its client Sy^2 + Associates Inc., Philippines, on the Seismic Performance-Based Evaluation of all three Ayala Land Premier’s Park Terraces Towers. The main objective of the work carried out was to design the building using a performance-based approach for seismic design with predictable and safe performance when subjected to earthquake ground motions. AIT Consulting was also responsible for the incorporation of BRB modeling in the design, in order to enhance the performance of the buildings.
