Urban density and housing affordability are two issues for city planners to anticipate and resolve, as cities have become priority destinations for people looking for job and business opportunities.

In the 8th Annual Affordable Housing Projects event held on 3-6 April 2017 at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre, experts talked about innovative concepts and solutions to these issues from government, statutory bodies, and specialized agencies.

Dr. Naveed Anwar, Structural Engineering Expert and Executive Director of AIT Solutions, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) presented Catalyzing Innovation in Performance-based Design for Disaster Resilient Housing where he talked about tall buildings as one solution to urban housing demand. The 8th Annual Affordable Housing Projects conference is a Marcus Evans event aims to uncover various market trends and identify market dynamics, such as drivers, restraints, opportunities, and challenges in the housing industry.

In March, Marcus Evans organized the 6th Annual Vertical Cities Conference in Dubai held on 6-8 March 2017 to leverage on Vertical Cities to resolve rapid urbanization in highly density cities as a solution to sustainable living. Dr. Naveed was also one of the speakers in this event.
